Forest School is a program that gives children a full day in nature. The benefits of nature play are countless and exposing children to a full day of nature and being in the forest can open so many doors. By being a part of our forest school your child will build skills in:
-open ended play
-engage in risky play with the safety and support of an Ontario Certified Teacher and Ece’s
-learn about nature, animals, and the natural world around them
-develop creative play skills
-reap the benefits of forest bathing
-develop a love for the natural world in all weather
-develop gross and fine motor skills, balance and coordination
-reduce chances of anxiety and depression
-enjoy fireside cooking and the warmth and community of our friends
Some considerations regarding Forest School:
All students must:
-be able to engage in routined bathroom breaks since there is no toilet in the forest. Or be in diapers if learning.
-be able to be safe and follow adult instructions around safety of boundaries and aspects such as fire, water and climbing
-bring their own lunch, snacks and water bottle along with spare gear and clothes in a backpack
Wednesday only $66.50 weekly
* one time fee for uniform shirt applies if you do not own one yet ($20 each)
*Must sign up for the full 8 weeks (you can take vacation time but the regular fee applies)
Week 1: boundaries, safety, rules, routine, forest tour which plants to watch for/What is a forest and why it’s an important place in our community
Week 2: Seeds in a forest
Week 3: Other growth: fungi, moss, decaying logs, etc...
Week 4: Identifying trees
Week 5: Forest wildlife, insects, and life
Week 6: Signs of life in the forest: tracks, scat, homes
Week 7: The a Forest under our feet (soil, roots, homes under ground, etc)
Week 8: Review and celebrating our experiences

Be engaged in animal care, supporting the farmers, exploring food and expanding food exposure. Our programs are designed to give the full farmer experience, be engaged in messy and creative play as well as build stamina in an outdoor space.

All students must:
